Social media has changed how many people live their lives and how businesses advertise. Despite the uses of these communication tools, some people argue that overuse may be detrimental. In fact, police in Nebraska claim that a teenager attempted to sell drugs over social media. Three people now face drug charges as a result.
The incident that led to the arrest of three teenagers reportedly happened in early March. A 19-year-old is accused of posting a picture on Snapchat, reportedly showing her with a large bag containing a green substance. In the post, she allegedly included information about selling drugs.
However, a police officer claims to have seen the post. When officers discovered the young woman, they say she was in a vehicle with a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old. Reports indicate that police smelled marijuana in the vehicle, and they found two bags of marijuana. All three teens have since been arrested and charged. The 19-year-old is accused of using a juvenile to help distribute drugs and selling marijuana, while both of the younger teenagers are accused of drug possession; further, the 17-year-old has also been charged with helping to sell the marijuana.
