Child custody awarded to father in contentious case

In a perfect world, parents would be able to come together to make decisions that are in the best interests of any children involved. However, the birth of a child does not magically give parents the ability to communicate openly with one another in the spirit of compromise. As a result, parents in Nebraska and across the country are often left with no other option than to ask a court to intercede in matters of child custody, among others.

Such appears to be the case for a set of parents in another state. According to reports, the parents of a 4-year-old girl have been involved in a bitter custody battle. Both parents have reportedly issued accusations against the other.

In fact, the mother claims that the father touched the child inappropriately while the father argues that the mother was trying to manipulate the young girl against him. The case reportedly went viral on social media after the woman allegedly hid the girl from her father for over a week. A jury has recently ruled in favor of the father, awarding him custody.

The vast majority of parents in Nebraska and other areas of the country simply want what is best for their child. However, coming to an agreement on what that is may be difficult for some parents, especially those no longer involved in a romantic relationship. When a court must intervene in child custody and other related matters, having an attorney with experience with family law can help ensure all relevant and necessary information is presented.
