Man accused of drunk driving in Nebraska

When confronted with figures of authority, some people in Nebraska have been known to panic. While the rational thing may seem to be to answer any questions police officers may ask, for example, others may react differently. Unfortunately, police may interpret an alternative response negatively, leaving the person facing several criminal charges. In fact, a man was recently arrested and now faces multiple charges, including drunk driving, following an interaction with police officers.

Police claim that they were contacted about a driver who some described as reckless at approximately 7:30 p.m. on a day in May. Those contacting police say that he failed to stop at red lights, nearly causing an accident. Police say that, when they were able to speak with the driver of the alleged vehicle, a 29-year-old man, they noticed that he had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.

However, when they asked him if he had been drinking, officers claim that he backed into a police car and sped away. Police say that they were ultimately able to take the man into custody and transport him to jail where he refused breath and criminal tests. He now faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, flight to avoid arrest, obstructing an officer and willful reckless driving.

As a result of the alleged drunk driving incident, the Nebraska man now faces several allegations. Convictions of the charges against him could have serious consequences. As a result, the decisions he makes as he goes through the criminal justice system will likely have a significant impact on the rest of his life. Because many people who have found themselves in a similar situation are unfamiliar with the justice system, they often require assistance from an experienced criminal defense attorney.
