When a crime occurs, especially one involving a pregnant woman, there is often a strong desire for justice. Unfortunately, when arrests are quickly made, there could be a great deal that is overlooked in an investigation. In fact, two juveniles in Nebraska may be considering their options now that they are facing criminal charges.

The incident that led to the arrests of the two youths happened on a day in July. According to reports, a pregnant woman reportedly walked into a hospital at approximately 1 a.m. She was reportedly suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman reportedly told police that she and a male were selling drugs from a vehicle when they were robbed, and she was shot. The woman’s baby was not injured, and her wounds are not considered life-threatening. The man in the car also allegedly suffered minor injuries.  A 16-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested in connection with the incident. The former faces charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, while the latter is accused of use of a firearm to commit a felony and assault of a pregnant woman.

Proceedings resulting from criminal charges may be an intimidating process for adults but are likely especially distressing for two teenagers. Unfortunately, these two juveniles may be unaware of their legal options and unable to adequately advocate for themselves. Fortunately, there are experienced professionals in Nebraska who can help these two young men fully understand their legal situations, ensuring that they are able to make the necessary decisions that will likely have a significant impact on the rest of their lives.
